Sleigh Bells

Sleigh Bells

Sleighbells is about a deep desire to just create. The Flower Creature is consumed inside and out with beautiful creative thoughts just bursting to bud and blossom. All she wants to do is be and have the freedom to act on her creative rustlings.

However, the World can block her creativity and interrupt her need to just be. The Naysayers barge in saying – How will you make money only doing your art? You need a real job! You should consider this a cute hobby and wait till retirement to spend so much time on frivolous art. You’re not good enough to make it anyway….These interruptions make the Flower Creature sad and confused.

Enter the Vine Dominatrix, which can take two forms.
1. The Vine Dominatrix can take on the voice of the aforementioned Naysayers. She is cruel, scrutinizing, choking the life out of the Flower Creature’s creativity and deep desires.

2. The Vine Dominatrix can be a force of good. When the Flower Creature feels confused and rudderless, the Vine Dominatrix can be her inner strength and wisdom, firmly rooted, able to discern the correct path and see clearly past obstacles – crack her whip and effect positive change toward the Flower Creature’s dreams.

So, why the name Sleigh Bells? Check out Rene Magritte’s painting The Double Secret. This is my version of the constant thoughts – creative, negative, questioning – that go on in my head 24/7.
